The Absurdity of Mandating Diversity

  • May 24, 2017

When you boil it down to its fundamental essence, it is an absurdity. A line in the morning paper’s editorial causes one to stop, think and calculate. The screed takes issue with a comment Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto made in an interview with Politico, in which she said, “We should be mandating diversity in our committees, mandating diversity in our hiring practices, mandating diversity throughout the United States Senate.” She later is quoted as[…]

How sick can you be to blow up innocent people, especially innocent little girls at a London Concert

  • May 24, 2017

I ask you, what is it going to take to label, demonize, and condemn Islamic Radical Terrorists? Every imaginable excuse has been created to justify these types of terrorist acts and to not go all out and place severe restrictions on anyone that remotely identifies with this unholy movement. I guess we can all pretty much agree that trying to make safe “soft targets,” like a concert, is useless and that other measures need to[…]

Trump makes historic visit to Western Wall

  • May 24, 2017

Jerusalem (CNN) — President Donald Trump on Monday became the first sitting U.S. president to visit the Western Wall, one of the holiest sites in Judaism. Trump, wearing a yarmulke, placed his right hand on the wall and swayed slightly back and forth with his eyes closed for nearly a minute. He then reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a note on a folded piece of paper and placed it into a crack[…]

Now Democrats find Fault with Visa Program that Reid Abused

  • May 24, 2017

Democrats are highly selective about the things that send them into high dudgeon. Democratic California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said this past week that Congress should end the EB-5 visa program that grants visas to foreigners who invest at least $500,000 in job-creating projects in the U.S., calling it a “citizenship-for-sale” program. Her umbrage was prompted by reports that President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner’s sister mentioned the visa program to potential Chinese investors in a family-owned[…]

Sandoval Seeks to End Controversy Over Lawyers’ Taped Talk about Lawsuit

  • May 24, 2017

Well that should settle that piece of politically inspired legislation. According to the morning newspaper, Gov. Brian Sandoval told a Reno radio station Monday he does not support creating a general counsel to legally represent agencies such as the Gaming Control Board and remove the office of attorney general from that role. Sounds like a promise to veto. The proposal is contained in Assembly Bill 513, which was put forward by Democratic Assemblywoman Maggie Carlton[…]

  • May 24, 2017

By Cristina Marcos The Hill The House easily passed legislation on Monday that would allow the State Department and law enforcement agencies to offer cash rewards for the arrest of international human traffickers. The measure, easily approved on a voice vote, expands the State Department’s current program offering cash rewards for information on people committing international organized crimes to include human trafficking. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-Calif.), who authored the bill,[…]
